Stoneleigh Rapaura Series Pinot Noir

Rapaura Series is the name given to the distinctive stony soils upon which our Stoneleigh vineyards are situated.  It is from these unique soils that this premium range of exceptional Marlborough wines takes its name.

Stricrt vineyard management and low yields, coupled with a warm harvest resulted in ripe fruit with intense flavours.

The grapes were de-stemmed, then cool-soaked prior to fermentation, maximising the fruit aromas.  Following fermentation the wine was aged in new and older French oak for 10 months.  This wine exhibits a silky texture, dark cherry fruit flavours, and the complexity, spices and gaminess that are the hallmarks of a great Pinot Noir. 

Enjoyable now, although the fine tannins and fruit concentration will ensure this wine develops well with cellaring.
